The 7th annual NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) IDtrust Workshop, co-sponsored by the OASIS IDtrust Member Section (MS) was a great success. Over 170 attendees participated from various industries and academia worldwide. The event generated an enthusiastic response from attendees and stimulated a great deal of 'hallway' conversation.
Four OASIS Technical Committees (TCs) within the IDtrust Member
Section made presentations: Enterprise Key Management Infrastructure
(EKMI), PKI Adoption (PKIA), Extensible Resource Identifier (XRI) and
Open Reputation Management Systems (ORMS). Also, Identity Protection
Factor (IPF) was presented; this is potentially a new IDtrust MS TC.
Another popular presentation was made by the OASIS eXtensible Access
Control Mark-up Language (XACML) TC. To view complete
programme go to: http://middleware.internet2.edu/idtrust/2008/program.html.
A primary goal of the OASIS IDtrust MS is to foster support for
existing technical work within the Member Section and to also explore
opportunities to develop new technical work related to Identity and
Trusted Infrastructures.
The NIST IDtrust venue is the perfect place to solicit ideas and obtain
feedback from industry experts and insiders. Work for next year's event
has already been started; we look forward to
another successful one.
